Band Info:

Based in Austin, the indie rock quartet Columns leans on a collective punk past to craft its unrushed brand of densely structured power pop. At times memorably melodic not unlike the best Cheap Trick tunes, Columns also references its roots in the hardcore punk scene as well as its deep fascination with the louder proponents of the UK shoegaze movement in the band’s collection of songs. Formed in 2015, Columns has focused on gigs in ATX, which included shows at Bull McCabes, The Aquarium, Grizzly Hall (now Come and Take It Live), Texas Mist, Mohawk, Dozen Street, and most recently, Valhalla. In addition, the band has maintained a tight connection to its hometown of Corpus Christi with well-attended quarterly gigs at Black Monk Tavern, Texan Drive-In and a memorable appearance in front of a packed house as the opening act for Sparta at the House of Rock in 2018. After several years of recording and fine-tuning, Columns released its debut album, "Decay Then Collapse," on digipack CD in November 2022 and on vinyl in January 2023. The album is available on numerous digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. To support "Decay Then Collapse," Columns plans to book short tour runs in Texas as well as in the Midwest and Southeast for the remainder of 2023. Columns is: Richard (guitar/lead vocals), Roger (drums), John (lead guitar/vocals), and Ruben (bass/vocals).
